Front-end Drupal Developer II

As an Axelerant Drupal Front-end Developer II, you would be designing and implementing the look and feel of websites and related materials by creating sitemaps, wireframes, and visual design comps for internal and client-facing web projects. Additionally, you’ll design for multiple devices and interactions (such as desktops, touch devices like smartphones and tablets, and simpler devices like feature phones).

A Drupal Front-end Developer II at Axelerant has a broad domain grounding and produces quality results for sizeable tasks in a project team. They are comfortable with their preferred domain and frameworks while composing outcomes medium complexity using modern methodologies.

Drupal Front-end Developer II are confident communicators internally and with clients. They are still learning more in-depth on the domain side while gaining confidence in sharing their knowledge to help others. Upon reaching Drupal Front-end Developer II, their project work is fully billable.

A Drupal Front-end Developer II at Axelerant could progress to a Senior Drupal Front-end Developer role within three years.

Expectations

  • Responsible for designing and building front-end applications with trivial content structure and functionality
  • Support technical discussions with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Support mutually agreeable outcomes with clients, partners, and other stakeholders
  • Responsible for front-end development tasks including custom module using agile, collaborative, and continuous integration methodologies
  • Responsible for solving problems effectively by collaborating with peers
  • Responsible for identifying, analyzing, and solving problems systematically rather than solely by gut
  • Support being coached and mentored
  • Responsible for documenting incidents and issues for communication and reference purposes

Requirements

  • 2+ years of front-end development experience
  • 1+ year of Drupal front-end development experience
  • Experience using Git and Pull Requests
  • Experience with agile methodologies for teams

Nice to Have

  • Able to collaborate in a multi-time zone environment
  • Committed to delivering high-quality software on time
  • Desire to learn and adapt through boring and innovative methodologies and technologies
  • Drupal 8 experience with Twig, theme suggestions, variable encoding on a page for JS
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Experience in application performance through JavaScript profiling and code optimization
  • Experience using front-end frameworks like AngularJS, ReactJS, Ember, Zurb Foundation, Bootstrap, and other grid systems
  • Experience with Git, using the terminal, and managing front-end systems with package managers such as NPM and organization tools like Grunt
  • Knowledge of CSS frameworks such as CSS, SASS, LESS, OOCSS, Smacss, BEM, etc
  • Understanding of using Drupal tools such as Drush and Composer

Special Considerations

Though all of Axelerant’s roles are work from anywhere, we are India-based for salaries and work timings. Explicitly, we expect people to typically have at least a five-hour crossover with the 11 AM to 7 PM India (UTC+05:30) timezone workday.
