Account & Payroll Administrator

Axelerant is looking for an Accounts, Payroll and Benefits Administrator to oversee, monitor and evaluate all day-to-day accounting, payroll, and benefits related activities activities.


  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
  • Update accounts receivable and issue invoices
  • Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations
  • Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
  • Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
  • Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
  • Assist with other accounting projects
  • Manage & own employee reimbursement processes.

Payroll & Benefits

  • Process payroll, including updating employee numbers, hours, garnishments, benefits and vacation, etc.
  • Communicate with employees and management about benefits options and usage.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of approved advances, travel and overtime claims; Responsible for the coordination between payroll and human resources, to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data  
  • Maintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization.  
  • Generating reports for payments e.g. PAYE returns and other third parties  
  • Maintain a proper document control system
  • Keep abreast with company policies and tax legislations that impact on remuneration
  • Meet Taxation compliances within the organisation.
  • Prepare month-end journals and reporting integrating to the financial system. (including preparation/distribution of detailed reports, e.g expense claims, overtime, leave balances, head count, and month end reports)  
  • Manage and analyze employee benefit programs, research issues, and track usage data.



  • Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and associates.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards (GASB).
  • Get responsibilities done in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast -pace setting.


  • Masters degree specialising in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum three years experience performing most of the above listed responsibilities.
  • Experience with XERO
